Crescat Capital’s October 2025 letter warns that the US equity market is near a critical turning point marked by speculative euphoria and fragile internals. The top 10 mega-caps are valued at 270% higher relative to GDP than during the 2000 dot-com peak, and high-yield spreads below 3% demonstrate systemic complacency. Weakening internals are highlighted by only half of the S&P 500 trading above their 50-day moving average and only 28% of the Consumer Discretionary sector doing so. Furthermore, stagflation signs are emerging with high commodity prices, sticky services inflation, and declining employment metrics. Crescat believes the US dollar is entering a secular decline, which will favor international and emerging market assets. Consequently, Crescat is actively positioned for a 'Great Rotation' into large-cap gold miners and small-cap explorers while utilizing inexpensive put options as asymmetric downside hedges.
