Sohra Peak Capital Partners Jonathan A. Cukierwar | “The biggest contributors to our portfolio's half-year return included our positions in D-BOX Technologies. Over the half-year, D-BOX provided a number of updates that we thought were materially positive which included earnings reports, significant auditorium additions driven in part by Cinemark, and new partnership announcements with Marcus Theaters and B&B Theaters, the #4 and #5 largest U.S. cinema chains respectively by screen count. The domestic box office is also having its strongest year since 2019, which has been a boon to companies within the theatrical ecosystem. We have been glad to see our theses, in our view, materializing for D-BOX. During the first few months of the new year, one of our top holdings, D-BOX, experienced a -29% decline in its share price as measured by closing prices from December 31, 2025 through March 20, 2026. In each episode, the company was among the top holdings in our portfolio, and in each the share price decline frustrated us because it did not reconcile with our view of the underlying fundamentals of the business. My reason for penning this is because the recent January through March episode I experienced with D-BOX was at times challenging, because this experience I wager is relatable among most investors in the quest for stellar investment returns, and because I believe most long-term equity investments will eventually go through a period like this.” | BULL | Q2 2026 Aug 12, 2026 | View Pitch |
