MJG Capital Fund Matt Geiger | “Kenorland Minerals was the Featured Investment in the July 2023 MJG partnership letter. The Kenorland position was initiated through a February 2020 financing at C$0.25 while the company was still private. The MJG partnership's cost basis has increased to C$0.59 after participation in a subsequent financing at C$1.00, as well as numerous open market purchases. After doubling in both 2024 and 2025, the Kenorland Minerals share price has undergone some much-deserved consolidation – with a 22% decline YTD. While news flow has been relatively light so far this year, the company continues to execute on its prospect generation business model as investors have come to expect. Kenorland's most significant asset continues to be a 4% NSR at the Frotet Project owned by Sumitomo Metal Mining Canada. With the release of the 2.55-million-ounce maiden resource in December, the next meaningful milestone at Frotet is the receipt by Sumitomo of the necessary permits from Quebec authorities to begin construction of an exploration decline. With baseline environmental and technical studies ongoing since summer 2024, these permits could be in hand as soon as year-end 2027 – putting Sumitomo in position to commence decline construction in 2028. While a new discovery has so far remained elusive, Kenorland continues to provide its shareholders with a new shot on target every few months. This is set to continue into 2027, with drill results from at least five different projects expected over the coming year. With its healthy balance sheet and a valuation backed by the 4% NSR at the Frotet Project, Kenorland sits comfortably as the MJG partnership's largest gold-focused position.” | NEUTRAL | Q2 2026 Aug 7, 2026 | View Pitch |
